COVID-19 – IMPACT ON GMAT PREP AND TEST PLANS
All of us are aware of the Global pandemic that has engulfed our daily lives. Let us discuss how we need to adapt to this situation, and the most common predicaments that aspirants are facing. While there is a lot of anxiety and uncertainty around us, sitting idle and panicking will not benefit us or the community.
However, remembering that at some point all of this will be over and moving forward with your preparations will greatly pay off when things eventually do regain normalcy.
For candidates who have not begun their preparations and are wondering whether this is the time to get started:
In short, YES. This is one of the best times to get started with your GMAT Prep. Quite possibly, never again will you be able to dedicate such a significant portion of your time to preparing for your tests without much distractions. Stay home, view this period of isolation as a blessing in disguise where you can cover the entire GMAT Prep Concepts & Strategies in about 3-4 weeks and be ready to ACE the Test!
Folks who are unsure whether to reschedule their test, even if their local test center is open:
It is probably a good idea to reschedule your test (at no extra charge to you) and practice the self-isolation guidelines prescribed by local authorities. While this might push your plans back a bit, it will benefit you by giving you some undivided bonus time that you otherwise would not have gotten.
Folks who have had their Final GMAT Test Date pushed back / cancelled:
Be patient, relax, keep preparing regularly for a few hours a week (not Intense Prep since you may have a burn-out). This is an unprecedented situation, and if your Test gets cancelled, you will be provided a full refund. Keep revising the concepts, strategies & take Practice Tests periodically to keep-up this momentum until your Final GMAT Test Date. Make the best use of this extra time.
We understand that you are feeling confused and fear for the future of your loved ones and the world, but just remember, this too shall pass. We have recovered countless times from unexpected and tragic events such as the current scenario. We urge you to continue working and preparing towards your Dream Business School (and Target GMAT Score) and maximize your efforts during this period of isolation to make these hard times count.
